Is the PCC Library the same as the public library?

Answer

No, the Pima Community College Library is separate from the Pima County Public Library. Both libraries serve Pima County, but in different ways.

The PCC Library is an academic library that serves students and employees of Pima Community College. It also serves county residents, but in a limited way. The College's library is a separate entity from the Pima County Public Library, and we do not share library cards or resources. Although the PCC Library does contain some popular fiction and entertaining videos, we specialize in academic information to support PCC classes and programs.

The public library serves the needs of all Pima County residents. While it does offer academic materials, it has a broader mission. It supports reading for pleasure, self-education, and programs for youth and children. Any county resident can get a public library card with full privileges. Just an FYI...many of the public library's online resources do not need a library card to access.
