Answer

If you click on "EasyBib" from this link: http://libguides.pima.edu/cite Pima students can access to an EasyBib citation generator that does APA style.

I used it with the book information and got this:

Smith, T. E., Polloway, E. A., Patton, J. R., & Dowdy, C. A. (2012). Teaching students with special needs in    inclusive settings (6th ed.). Upper Saddle River, NJ: Pearson.

Notice a few differences with APA: only use author first & middle initials, not names. Publication year goes after authors, not at the end. Book title only capitalizes first word.

Your in-text citation is pretty close! It should look like this:

According to Smith, et al. Polloway, Patton, & Dowdy (2012), students with special needs need to be in general classroom (p.120).

I used this excellent website to double-check myself: http://bcs.bedfordstmartins.com/resdoc5e/res5e_ch09_s1-0001.html

I hope that helps!
