How long can I keep library materials? (I'm a student)

Answer

Students can keep most items for three weeks, and they can renew the items twice (if no one has requested them).

  • This includes books, videos, audiobooks, and CDs, as long as they are not in Course Reserves.
    • Honors students can keep books from the regular collection for the whole semester. Contact us and we will update your record. (Please note that special collections will have shorter loan periods. This includes videos, CDs, and books from the Popular collection).

Some special collections have different loan periods. Not sure when your item is due, you can ask us via LibChat or a Ask A Librarian email or you can log on and view your account here.

  • CARES Act Laptops, tablets and hotspots are loaned for the entire semester.
