How do I find eBooks on history?

You can search across all our titles, or you can use databases devoted to eBooks.

1. The Library Catalog (Books and More)

Search across all our eBooks. You will not be search inside the full text, though, only the descriptive records.

2. MegaSearch

Search across all our eBooks. This will search the full text of each book.

3. Databases: 100% eBooks

These thematic databases integrate chapters from many eBooks:

This academic database has articles and eBooks

  • JSTOR is an academic database with both articles and eBooks
    • To authenticate, type Pima under Find your institution.

How do eBooks differ from printed books?

  • Publishers and and databases may limit the numbers of people who can simultaneously access an eBook.
  • Most allow generous printing and copying of material, but there may be limits.
  • You can peruse a book in your browser (after logging into the database with MyPima).
  • But to download a book you often need special digital rights software like Adobe DRM. This is a hassle to set up, but may be worth it.
  • Just be prepared for different databases to operate differently.
