Can I legally show a Kanopy video to a group at Pima?
Answer
Some Kanopy videos can be shown outside of class, but most of them cannot.
Kanopy has a total of 35,500 videos
- Any of them can be viewed by a PCC student.
- Any of them can be shown for a face-to-face class.
A subset of these videos (13,500 of them) have Public Performance Rights.
- These are the only videos that can be shown to groups outside the class setting. These events would not charge for entry, and would not be advertised beyond PCC. Examples of venues might be a student club meeting, a Student Life hangout, or a library.
